MISSION AND VALUES
Founded in 1899
Bluffton University was founded as Central Mennonite College. As the cornerstone was laid for College Hall, President Noah C. Hirschy shared an idea that has proved as durable as the structure itself: “Let us expect great things.”

Grounded in faith
While affiliated with Mennonite Church USA, Bluffton's students, faculty, staff and alumni are not necessarily Mennonite. More than 26 religious denominations are represented on campus.
