FASFA reminder

This is a reminder to complete the 2023-24 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) form if your student plans to enroll between July 1, 2023, and June 30, 2024. This is an annual requirement for students who receive state-federal-institutional need-based aid and/or students and parents who utilize federal student loans.

NOTE: Bluffton's priority deadline for need-based aid is May 1, 2023. Otherwise eligible students who submit the FAFSA after May 1 may not receive need-based grant aid from Bluffton or the campus-based Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (FSEOG). Ohio has a FAFSA filing deadline of Oct. 1, 2023, for students who are eligible for the Ohio College Opportunity Grant.

Returning students

Students renew financial aid for the 2023-24 year by completing the renewal FAFSA at Studentaid.gov.

The 2023-24 FAFSA form requires 2021 income and tax information. Most people have already filed their 2021 taxes and can transfer their tax information directly into the FAFSA form using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (IRS DRT). If you are eligible, this is the fastest, most accurate way to input your tax return information into the FAFSA form.

  • Go to fafsa.gov
  • Select the "start here" button
  • Select "I am the student" and enter the student's FSA ID (username and password.)
  • From the "My FAFSA" page, select the "FAFSA renewal" button to begin.
  • Create a save key. This is a temporary password that will let you a) return to the application later if you don't complete it right away and b) share the application with your student/parent.
