Becoming a communicator in business

Brady Mitosinka’25, a business administration and economics double major, from Monroe, Mich., completed a summer internship in sales with Motion Industries in Findlay, Ohio. As a result of this internship, Mitosinka was hired part-time with Motion and continues to do sales.

Mitosinka came to Bluffton in hopes of pinpointing what he wanted to do after college. Early on in his college career, Mitosinka found a passion for business. This passion opened the door for Mitosinka to complete this internship and kept the door open to allow him to continue working for the company.

“During this internship. I was able to shadow the outside salesmen,” said Mitosinka. “The salesmen are responsible for customers and accounts. They are always in front of the customer working on building their relationships.”

During his internship, Mitosinka learned the ins-and-outs of the sales industry and was often tasked with assisting in helping the inside salesmen with purchase orders. Other times he found himself in the warehouse helping with billing and receiving. Mitosinka says this internship helped him find his passion for business.

“I’m hoping that this experience will provide me with more opportunities down the line. I feel like I have learned a lot and have gotten really comfortable in my role,” said Mitosinka.

Mitosinka credits Gary Schiefer, emeritus professor of business, the business department, and Dr. Zachary Walton, professor of communication, for helping him grow his knowledge and prepare for the internship.

“The classes here have expanded my knowledge exponentially, specifically the microeconomics and macroeconomics as well as financial investment,” said Mitosinka. “I think I have grown in my interpersonal communication skills too. I’m just able to communicate more effectively now.”

Outside of class, Mitosinka is a member of the baseball team and the financial investment club. Mitosinka enjoys spending time with his wife, Riley (Garmatter ’23) Mitosinka, and their dog, Maybel.

“The relationships you build here at Bluffton are what make it special,” said Mitosinka. “There are ups and downs in life and you ultimately fall back on those relationships in times of need. I’m forever grateful for that.”
