WHY DID YOU CHOOSE BLUFFTON?

I chose Bluffton University due to the small campus size, student to faculty ratio, and its location.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE YOUR MAJOR? WHAT’S MOST EXCITING ABOUT YOUR CLASSES?

I chose graphic design because while I did not want to be an artist, I still wanted a job that gave me creative freedom but also guaranteed a steady income. I love learning new techniques and how to use different mediums. Getting new assignments and having to figure out how to work with new materials is always a fun challenge.

TELL US ABOUT BLUFFTON’S FACULTY, STAFF AND COACHES. ARE THEY HELPING YOU REACH YOUR GOALS?

All the faculty and staff are really involved in student life. I know I would not have the same relationships with my professors if I went to a bigger school. These professors genuinely care and challenge your abilities.

Not only do the faculty and staff help you reach your goals, but they help you set them. If you do not know where to start on setting achievable goals for yourself, any faculty member would be willing to help. The meetings I have had with professors and my coach have helped keep me on track with achieving my goals for the year and beyond.

WHAT STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS ARE YOU PART OF? WHY IS IT IMPORTANT FOR YOU TO BE ACTIVE ON CAMPUS?

I am a part of the Marbeck Activities Council. I really enjoy being involved because of the people I would not have been able to meet if I hadn’t joined. Seeing so many people come together for events and games is really cool, and to know I was some part of other people forming connections is nice as well.

ARE YOU A STUDENT-ATHLETE? IF SO, WHICH SPORT(S) DO YOU PLAY, AND WHAT IS THE BEST PART OF BEING ON A TEAM AT BLUFFTON?

I am a part of the women’s soccer team. The best part of being on the team is the people. I met some of my best friends on the team and my roommate for my sophomore year.

I would not have had the same first year without the guidance from many upperclassmen and fellow freshmen. These girls have never looked down on me for being younger or just coming in but have always welcomed me. I will always be thankful for them.
