WHY DID YOU CHOOSE BLUFFTON?

I transferred to Bluffton after going to a school in Colorado for two years. I wanted a school closer to home and Bluffton provided that. The school not only welcomed me in, but the students genuinely cared about their school and the experiences they had. The campus felt like home.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE YOUR MAJOR? WHAT’S MOST EXCITING ABOUT YOUR CLASSES?

I’ve always wanted to be a nurse. I have been fascinated by the way they care for individuals on a daily basis, which allows patients to truly seek healing, within their environment. The classes I have taken provide firsthand experience into this opportunity to aid in genuine care for patients.

TELL US ABOUT BLUFFTON’S FACULTY and STAFF. ARE THEY HELPING YOU REACH YOUR GOALS?

The faculty here are fantastic. Coming in, already attending a college for two years, I was not expecting to connect with professors so easily. I was proved otherwise. The faculty here truly care about the students, for more than just a grade, but as a person. I have continually been checked up on, by professors that no longer teach me, or have ever taught me, yet they still deeply care for us and our wellbeing.

WHAT STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS ARE YOU PART OF? WHY IS IT IMPORTANT FOR YOU TO BE ACTIVE ON CAMPUS?

I am part of Delight, a women’s ministry on campus. This is a super cool organization that opens the door for women to come together and build community through their faith. Being active on campus provides opportunities to meet new people, as well as reach areas of the campus and student body that you may feel called to.

ARE YOU A STUDENT-ATHLETE? IF SO, WHICH SPORT(S) DO YOU PLAY, AND WHAT IS THE BEST PART OF BEING ON A TEAM AT BLUFFTON?

I am currently on the swim team. The best part of being on a team, here at Bluffton University, is the family that you gain through the sport. My teammates are not just those I train with, but people that I truly care for and would consider family. The coaches also provide a lot of support for their athletes, to seek the best outcome, not just athletically, but also academically.
