Why did you choose Bluffton?
I chose Bluffton because of the community-like atmosphere. From my first visit on
campus, I was welcomed with open arms and was more than just a number. When deciding
where I wanted to go to college it was a no brainer that I wanted to be someplace
close to home and someplace that felt like my home away from home, Bluffton gave me
that.
Why did you choose your major? What’s most exciting about your classes?
I chose education because I have always had a passion for working with children, especially with children that need more support. When I committed to Bluffton, I knew I wanted to go into education. Once I saw Bluffton had an Intervention Specialist Program, I knew that it was something I wanted to go into. I do not regret my decision at all.
The most exciting thing about my classes is that the material I am interested in is
taught extremely well. Another exciting thing is that all the professors in the education
department are professionals and are training each student to be a future educator.
Tell us about Bluffton’s faculty, staff, and coaches. Are they helping you reach your goals?
Here at Bluffton, all faculty, staff and coaches are here to help support and guide
you during your four years at Bluffton. One of the biggest driving forces behind student
success is that it all starts with the administration and departments. Everyone’s
office door is always open to talk or give advice to students.
What student organizations are you part of? Why is it important for you to be active on campus?
I am a part of many organizations on campus including Student Athlete Advisor Committee, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Delight Ministries and I am a President’s Ambassador. It is important for me to be active on campus because that is how you build relationships.
One of the most important parts of college is building connections with others. I
have always been active in my community and school back home, and going to Bluffton
I knew that I wanted to continue to be a part of clubs and organizations.
Are you a student-athlete? what is the best part of being on a team at Bluffton?
I am on the women’s golf team. One of the best parts about being on a team is that I have teammates that are in the same situations as I am. They are always there to talk, hang out, get ice cream and make memories. I would not be able to get through school and especially golf if it was not for my amazing teammates.
It’s not just amongst the golf team, it is across campus. All the athletic teams are welcoming, understanding and show immense amounts of school spirit. I know every team on this campus has players that are there for one another and for other people too.
