Written to create a more perfect union
Dr. Robert Postic, professor of political science at University of Findlay, shared “The Enduring Legacy of the U.S. Constitution,” during Bluffton University’s Constitution Day Forum on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
“As we celebrate the 237th year of the signing of the U.S. Constitution, we must first realize the goal of the Constitution is to create a more perfect union,” said Postic. “Not only does the Constitution facilitate that process, it invites us into that narrative of creating a more perfect union.”
“Even with the difficulties we face today with a polarized nation as well as threats to the Constitution, we have a Constitution that has endured, is enduring and will continue to endure in the years ahead,” said Postic.
Free and open to the public, this presentation served as Bluffton’s Constitution Day annual educational event.
All educational institutions which receive federal funds are required to offer an instructional program each year on or near Sept. 17, the day the U.S. Constitution was signed in 1787.
