Challenging Division and Indifference in Social Issues
Rev. Dr. Maxwell Kennel, pastor, Hamilton Mennonite Church, and director, Pandora Press, will present the Spiritual Life Week Forum, “Bound to Remember 500 Years of Anabaptist Critique”, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25, in Yoder Recital Hall. During the event, the pastor-philosopher will explain how the Anabaptist tradition challenges both polarization and neutrality when addressing social problems.
Yoder will also share a message at Chapel at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, in Marbeck Center’s Bob’s Place.
Both events are free and open to the public. At Bluffton, one week each semester is designated as Spiritual Life Week, a special time for focusing on Christian life. Students play a major role in planning activities during the week that help strengthen growth and faithfulness in their relationship with God. The week includes a guest speaker and special times of worship. The theme for this spring’s Spiritual Life Week is ““Faith and Memory.”
This event is part of the Anabaptism at 500 series. More information about these events can be found at www.bluffton.edu/anabaptism500 All Anabaptism at 500 events are free and open to public. Anabaptism at 500 events made possible with the generous support of Lowell and Marty Hostetler.
