The Technology Center
The Tech Center exists to provide a place for individuals and groups to gather and work. We provide access to computers, consumer electronics equipment, and technical support to help Bluffton University students achieve their educational goals.
Normal hours during the school year:
MONDAY - THURSDAY: 7:30 a.m. - 11 p.m.
FRIDAY: 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
SATURDAY: CLOSED
SUNDAY: 6 p.m. - 11 p.m.
This schedule may be adjusted around holidays and breaks. The Tech Center is usually closed when classes are not in session.
Services
The Tech Center is a campus resource that provides the following resources to the campus community:
- Color and Black & White printing at no charge
- Computers for Student and Staff use
- Consumer electronics for checkout
- Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite on all Tech Center computers
- Scanning
- Assistance with computer problems, even on personal devices
- Videoconference equipment for classes
- Workspace for students with laptops
- Glassboards with digital capture and group work space
The Technology Center is able to provide quick and knowledgeable assistance to students, faculty and staff who have questions or difficulties with any of the services we offer.
Policies
CLASS PROJECT POLICY The Bluffton University technology center staff is available to assist students with class projects and with the general use of the center's equipment. However, all work must be completed by the student.
ITEM RESERVATION, CHECK-OUT AND RETURN POLICIES Owl Cameras can be checked out using the Owl Camera Request Form on my.bluffton. Other classroom technology can be checked out by visiting or emailing the Tech Center. Classroom technology will be delivered and setup within 10 minutes of the requested time. The Tech Center kindly requests one day’s advanced notice. The Tech Center also has equipment available for use outside of the classroom. Students may check out equipment for one week; faculty for up to two weeks. Please return equipment on time, or contact the Tech Center if an extension needs to be arranged.
