Renaissance Technique |
The examples you will be viewing throughout these pages are landmark works in the history of Renaissance art. Some could be included in several different categories. As you look at the works, notice the various ways the artists make the events seem real or naturalistic. The following traits are especially important for the development of naturalism in the Renaissance:
1. Use of light and shadow (chiaroscuro) to model figures.
2. Psychological and emotional expressiveness.
3. Realistic anatomy. | |
4. Realistic spatial perspective |
