First year women’s tennis coach Jessica Grandey looks to guide the Beavers on their quest to improve on the 2003 season   Last season the team finish the year with a 3-9 record and an eighth place finish in the Heartland Conference.  The 2004 edition of the team returns several key players to the line up, and will be adding a core group of first year newcomers.

Returning for the Beavers this season will be All-HCAC, and HCAC freshman-of-the-year, sophomore Jenna Liechty (Goshen, Ind./Bethany).  Last season Liechty was the top singles player for the Beavers as she accumulated a 5-7 record in dual matches.  Liechty will look to improve on her record this year and be a force once again for Bluffton on the court.

Also returning in 2004 for the Beavers is the team’s lone senior Stephanie Keefe (Tiffin/Calvert).  Keefe will bring the experience of a veteran player to the squad this year. Junior Kara Shrock (Middlebury, Ind./Northridge) and sophomore Lisa Cherry (Waterville/Anthony Wayne) will also look to help lead the team this season.

With the addition of four first year players to the team, Kathleen Tebbe (Lexington, Tenn./Memorial), Chelsey Person (Bellefontaine/Bellefontaine), Kelly Metzger (Bluffton/Bluffton), and Bree Fetterman (North Royalton/Padua Franciscan) the Beavers look to make great slams in 2004.
