BLUFFTON, OHIO – The Bluffton University (2-2, 2-1 HCAC) doubles teams were too much for the Defiance Yellow Jackets today as the Beavers went undefeated in doubles play.
In the singles contest the Beavers had a little more trouble, splitting the matches 3-3. Every match was very competitive with two matches going into a third set super tie break. Bluffton came out on the wrong end of both, but it shows the young talent that they bring to every contest. Freshman Chelsey Person (Belfontaine/Belfontaine) continues her undefeated streak today in varsity match play. She has been shifted from the No. 6 and No. 5 spot all year and continues to show her strong play against opponents. Sophomore Jenna Liechty ( Goshen, Ind./Bethany Christian) and Senior Stephanie Keefe (Tiffin/Calvert) also won their respected singles matches in straight sets.
The Lady Beavers will be back in action on Thursday at home against Findlay. Match time set for 4 p.m.
