Women's soccer picks up win against Cincy Bible on week

Bluffton, Ohio- The Bluffton University women's soccer team (5-8, 0-6) opened with a dominating performance to beat Cincinnati Bible but continued to struggle in conference play with a loss to Transylvania.
On Tuesday the Beavers came out strong to beat CincinnatiBibleCollege by a score of 6-1.
The Beavers were led by sophomore Brianne Von Lehmden (Ft. Jennings/Ft.Jennings) and freshman Ashley Short (Fayette/Archbold) who scored two goals each. Junior Kate Barhorst (Lima/Shawnee) also tallied a goal in the match. Rounding out the Beaver scoring was senior Rochelle Saccomen (Ashland/Ashland) who notched her first goal of the season.
On Saturday the Beavers hosted the Heartland Conference leader, TransylvaniaUniversity, and were defeated, 3-0.
Leading the Beavers offensively this season is sophomore Brianne Von Lehmden (Ft. Jennings/Ft. Jennings). She has tallied 12 total points this season with six
goals, two being game winners. Right behind Von Lehmden is senior Jen Byrne (Oak Harbor/Oak Harbor) with seven points and sophomore Jen Hoyt (Springfield/Kenton Ridge) with six. Senior goalkeeper Rochelle Saccomen (Ashland/Ashland) has totaled 116 saves, four shutouts, and one goal scored on the
Bluffton will be back in action on Wednesday at home against ThomasMoreCollege. Start time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. The Beavers will then return to conference play on Saturday when they travel to MountSt. Joseph, start time scheduled for 5 p.m.
