BLUFFTON, Ohio - Thiel College took advantage of 25 St. Mary-of-the-Woods turnovers en route to a 73-54 win in the consolation game of the 2008 Bluffton Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday, November 22, 2008.
The Tomcats were led by Kim Stitt, who put together a double-double for her team with 10 rebounds and 14 points. She led Thiel with five blocks and also dished out three assists. Stitt was named All-Tournament for her efforts on the court during the weekend. Amber Janae Bodrick led her team with 16 points. She finished with seven boards, three assists, two steals and one block. Teammate Jena Cook chipped in with 13 points, one block, and she was 3-of-7 from beyond on the arc. Catie Seiber and Michelle Warren dropped in 11 and 10 points, respectively.
St. Mary-of-the-Woods standout freshman Chelsey Barron paced the Pomeroys with a double-double during the loss to Thiel. She led her team with 17 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Barron was 11-of-12 from the free throw line. Amanda Trimble, who buried 2-of-2 from outside the arc, added 12 points. Adrianne Blickenstaff knocked in 11 points and grabbed seven boards on her way to earning All-Tournament honors during the inaugural Bluffton Tip-Off Tournament.
