Karin Schaller breaks Heartland Conference season block record

The Bluffton College women’s basketball team (0-10) fell to the Adrian Bulldogs (4-6) 68-42 on Tuesday afternoon.
Sophomore Karin Schaller (Jenera/Arlington) posted four blocks for the contest which breaks the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference season block record. Schaller now has an incredible 51 blocks in only 10 games. The former record of 49 blocks was held by Virginia Grace of
“It’s another accomplishment that shows again how hard she worked in the off season,” Head Coach Amanda Curtis said. “Karin definitely deserves all the records she has been breaking. Defensively she is very strong. I hope that she continues to work hard and improve.”
Leading the Beavers in scoring for the day was senior Lindsay Bacon (Troy/Troy) with 13 points. Freshman Tanya Rickenberg (Defiance/Paulding) posted 12 points and a career high nine rebounds. Junior Christina Champion (Oregon/Clay) had a career high 7 boards for the day.
