Franklin College downs Bluffton 87-30

BLUFFTON, OHIOThe Bluffton College women’s basketball team (1-19, 0-9 HCAC) were defeated by the Franklin Grizzlies (16-4, 7-2 HCAC) 87-30.

 

Leading the Beavers on the night was senior Lindsay Bacon (Troy/Troy) with 13 points and five rebounds. Freshman Tanya Rickenberg (Defiance/Paulding) posted six points. Sophomore Karin Schaller (Jenera/Arlington) knocked down five blocks for the game.

 

The game was a tough one from the beginning as Bluffton went down 8-0 and tried to make a comeback before the half. The halftime score was 45-10 in favor of the Grizzlies. The Beavers doubled their point total in the second half by connecting shots for 20 points. In the end the final was 87-30 in favor of Franklin College.

 

Turnovers hurt Bluffton as they committed 34 for the evening to Franklin’s six.

 

Lindsey Roberson led Franklin with 15 points. Jenny Cramer and Kindra Moorman posted 10 points each for the Grizzlies.

 

Bluffton will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Transylvania University. Tip off is scheduled for 2 pm.
