Coach Steve Yarnell will be entering his seventh season as head coach of the Bluffton University volleyball program. He is also an instructor in the health, physical education and recreation department. |

In his fifth season at the helm, Yarnell led the team to an overall record of 27-6, including a spotless 8-0 mark in the Heartland Conference. The Beavers clinched a berth in the NCAA tournament with a thrilling five-set victory over MSJ in the HCAC Tournament finals at Bluffton University. With a solid class of incoming freshmen and six returning seniors, Yarnell and the Beavers look to be a formidable opponent in a highly competitive Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. Yarnell graduated from the University of Findlay in 2003 with a bachelor's of science degree in physical education. He also completed his master's degree from Findlay in 2005 in education with a technology emphasis. Prior to assuming the role as head coach for the Bluffton University volleyball team, Yarnell was the first assistant coach for the men's and women's volleyball programs at the University of Findlay in 2004. Before that, Yarnell was the graduate assistant for the men's volleyball team at Findlay. |

Yarnell was a varsity volleyball player at Findlay from 2000-03. He was honored as academic all-conference his junior and senior seasons as well as being named to two all-tournament teams as a player during his career. Yarnell was also a gold medal winner for the United States volleyball squad at the Australia Down Under Games. He has been highly active in the local volleyball scene as he worked extensively with volleyball camps and local volleyball clubs. Yarnell, an Impact and CAP level 1 certified coach, is a member of USA Volleyball and the American Volleyball Coaches Association. He directs numerous camps and clinics at Bluffton University and at high school campuses throughout the state. Coach Yarnell and his wife, Kelly, reside in Bluffton with their four-year-old daughter, Gracie, two-year-old son, Toby, and dog, Scooby. |

Bluffton University head volleyball coach Steve Yarnell would like to announce the newest member to the Volleyball coaching staff, Meghan Mohr. Mohr is a 2004 graduate of Elida High School where she was a decorated volleyball player. She led the Bulldogs and was an All-Ohio Honoree in her junior and senior seasons as well being honored as a First Team All-Western Buckeye League team three times. Mohr took her talents to Bowling Green State University where she was a Falcon Volleyball player for four seasons. While a Falcon, she racked up 975 kills and saw time as both an opposite hitter and setter. She was named 2nd Team All-MAC for her efforts in the 2007 and 2008 seasons. Since graduation Mohr has added to her resume coaching positions at Spencerville High School as the varsity head coach as well as coaching for Bean City Volleyball Club. |

Mohr is taking the place of current Graduate Assistant coach Erin Oberly, who will graduate this spring and has been hired as the Bluffton High School Varsity coach. Coach Yarnell comments, “I believe Meghan will do a great job for us. She is a local area athlete that is well known in the volleyball community. She has a passion for the sport and volleyball has been and is a big part of her life. I think Meghan will hit the ground running and will be able to use her experiences as both a player and coach to continue developing student athletes in our program.” |
