|BLUFFTON - The Bluffton University volleyball team hits the road this weekend to travel to Chicago suburb River Forest, to compete in the Star Classic hosted by Dominican University. Bluffton is coming off one of the most successful seasons in the past decade, going 21-10 and making the semifinals in the conference Tournament. The Beavers, led by fifth year head coach Steve Yarnell, have high expectations for the 2009 season.|
"We had a very good preseason and were able to accomplish some things faster in preseason than in previous years," said Yarnell. "I am excited for the team to compete against some out-of-region opponents at this weekend's tournament. We will get a chance to test our lineups against some quality opponents and get a feel for what we need to improve on. Practices have been very competitive and our second team pushes our first team each and every day. When you are playing against your teammates each day you learn each person's strengths and weaknesses, so it will be nice to get out and play against outside competition."
