Beavers compete at Anderson and Kenyon Invitational on week

 The Bluffton University women’s volleyball team competed in the Kenyon College Invitational along with playing a Heartland Conference game against Anderson University this past week.  The Beavers were defeated in three games by Anderson (25-30, 25-30, 32-34) on Tuesday.  On Friday Bluffton was defeated by Kenyon College (17-30, 27-30, 30-32) and Case Western (24-30, 26-30, 21-30).  Saturday the Beavers lost to Denison University (22-30, 24-30, 28-30) and Heidelberg (17-30, 18-30, 24-30).
 

   Senior Courtney Tisher (Rittman/Rittman) led Bluffton against Anderson.  She totaled 14 kills, four digs, and two blocks.  Kelly Kettinger (Oregon/Clay) added 32 digs to the Beaver defense on the game.  Sophomore setter Brittany Shultz (Hudson, IN/Prairie Heights) contributed 16 assists, seven digs, and three blocks to the team total.
 

   Leading Bluffton on the weekend was Tisher, Jill Rothe (Wapakoneta/St. Mary’s), Leslie Overmyer (Payne/Wayne Trace) , and Kettinger.  Tisher added 46 kills, four aces, 44 digs, and ten blocks.  Rothe tallied 20 kills, one ace, 26 digs, and three blocks for the Beavers.  Overmyer led the team in assists with 81, and she also contributed 41 digs and one ace on the weekend.   Kettinger posted 97 digs and once ace for Bluffton.  
 

   Leading the Beavers on the season is Courtney Tisher.  Tisher has accumulated 287 kills, 25 aces, 169 digs, and 28 solo blocks on the season.   Junior Keri Kuhlman (Shelby/Shelby) has totaled 302 kills, 49 digs, and 34 solo blocks for Bluffton.  Senior Erin Kreim (New Washington/Buckeye Central) posts 133 kills, 15 aces, 313 digs on the year thus far.  Overmyer leads in assists with 496 and has added 231 digs, and 17 serves aces.  Senior Kelly Kettinger leads the defense with 573 digs on the season; she has also contributed 27 serving aces to the team total.  
 

   Bluffton will be in action this week as they host Heartland opponent Franklin on Tuesday, start time for the contest is scheduled for 7 p.m.
