Bluffton smashes Mount St. Joseph 9-0 and falls to Hanover 7-2

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Bluffton University men's tennis team traveled to Cincinnati to face the College of Mount St. Joseph and Hanover College in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tri-match that was originally scheduled for March 25. The Beavers smashed the Mount by a match score of 9-0 as each singles player won in straight sets. Because the Lions' team consists of only five players, MSJ is forced to forfeit its sixth singles and third doubles matches.
Bluffton fell to the Hanover College Panthers 7-2 in the second match of the day from Cincinnati. Jordan Zickefoose (Lima/Lima Senior) picked up two victories against the Panthers despite the team's loss. He, along with partner Tim Kauffman (Lilburn, Ga./Parkview), was victorious at first doubles by a score of 9-7, and he also dominated his match at first singles by a score of 6-1, 6-4. Zickefoose was a perfect 4-0 on the day for the Beavers who picked up their first HCAC victory of the season.
The Beavers return to action on Tuesday, April 11, when they travel to Defiance to face the Yellow Jackets in the final regular season match of 2006.
