Bluffton defeats Heidelberg College

BLUFFTON, Ohio – The Bluffton University men’s tennis team (2-2) defeated Heidelberg College 4-3 on March 31.
Leading the Beavers was freshman Jordan Zickafoose (Lima/Lima Senior) as he posted a victory in the No. 1 singles position by a score of 3-6, 6-0, 6-2. Freshman Tim Kauffman (Lilburn, Ga./Parkview) earned a victory at No. 4 singles 6-3, 7-5. Freshman Nick Barth (Upper Sandusky/Upper Sandusky) also picked up a win at the No. 6 singles position 6-0, 6-0.
In doubles play, the Beavers picked up victories in the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. Freshman Blake Babcock (Findlay/Findlay) and Kauffman won at No. 2 doubles 8-6. Freshman Isaiah Schloneger (Dundee/Central Christian) and Barth picked up the victory at No. 3 doubles 8-5.
The Beavers will be back in action Saturday, April 2, against Defiance at 3 p.m.

The match was scored using Ohio Athletic Conference rules.
To earn one point in doubles play, a team must win two of the three doubles matches.
