The Bluffton University men’s soccer team (3-11, 1-4 HCAC) picked up a 6-1 victory over Taylor Ft. Wayne last week and lost an HCAC matchup to Transylvania 3-0.

Against Taylor Ft. Wayne the team was led by sophomore Justin Rohrer (Millersburg/West Holmes) who posted two goals and an assist.  Three seniors got the scoring started with Dan Hershberger (Berlin/Hiland), Ricky Stoner (Worthington/ Tree of Life) and Mike Moore (Naperville, Ill/Charlotte) who all scored a lone goal each in the first 45 minutes of the game.  Bluffton’s scoring was rounded off by senior Caspar Agyeman-Duah (Fairfield, OH) who had a single goal.

The Beavers gave their best effort against Heartland Conference foe Transylvania, but lost the match 3-0. The team posted 13 shots to the Pioneers 10, but couldn’t seem to find the back of the goal.  Agyeman-Duah (Fairfield, Ohio) led Bluffton with five shots.

Caspar Agyeman-Duah currently leads Bluffton for the season with five goals and an assist for 11 points. Justin Rohrer posts 10 points off of four goals and two assists. Keeper Ryan Thomas (Jamestown/Greenview) has 76 saves for the 2004 campaign.

Bluffton University will be back in action this Tuesday when they travel to rival Defiance College. Start time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. The Beavers will then be at home on Friday for their last home match of the 2004 season.
