Goshen easily wins first game of Holiday Tournament

The Goshen College Maple Leafs kicked off the 2003 McDonald’s of Bluffton Holiday Tournament with a 91-62 victory over the Millikin University Big Blue. Goshen will play in the championship game scheduled for 3 p.m. tomorrow while Millikin will participate in the consolation game. Opponents for the games will be determined after the Bluffton College vs. Lake Erie game.
Goshen showed a steady offensive attack throughout their match-up posting four players with 10 points or more. Leading the way was freshman forward Willie Frazier with 17, followed by sophomore Jordan Buller and senior Jeremy High who each added 14 points, and finally freshman Matt Crawford who tossed in 11. Goshen shot 62.7% from the field, 50% from beyond the arc and 73.9% from the charity stripe on their way to the impressive victory.
Millikin could not keep pace with the impressive shooting of the Maple Leafs, the Big Blue managed to shoot just 46.6% from the field, 33.3% from beyond the arc and 33.3% from the charity stripe. Leading the way for the Big Blue were seniors Kevin Causley and Phil Schneider each with 10 points on the day.
