Emery Sears

The late Emery Sears, a 1928 Bluffton graduate, lettered in football, basketball and track while attending Bluffton. He majored in biological sciences, was a regular on the college honor roll and named vice president of his senior class.

After graduation, Sears was a high school principal and athletic coach. He received a master’s degree from the University of Iowa and was a board member of three corporations, a member of the Board of Realtors and a state realtor for Farm Bureau.

Sears was a member of the Presbyterian Church where he has taught a men’s class for nine years. He also was a Sunday School teacher and superintendent in the Mennonite Church.
