Craig Smith II was recently named the special teams coordinator and wide receivers coach for the 2010 Bluffton University football team. He comes to Bluffton after stints at John Carroll University and Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.

For the past two seasons, Smith was the special teams coordinator, wide receivers coach and worked as the assistant strength and conditioning coordinator. In addition he was highly involved with recruiting at John Carroll. Prior to his stint at JCU, he worked with linebackers and defensive backs at Saint Vincent College under Coach Veidt who was the defensive coordinator.

Smith gained experience while serving at numerous football camps during the past three years, including the University of Notre Dame, the University of Maryland and James Madison University. He has worked with receivers, linebackers and defensive backs at the camps, increasing his breadth of knowledge on both sides of the ball.

He is a member of the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and The National Football Foundation (NFF). Smith's involvement with youth includes serving as a residential assistant and assistant intramurals coordinator.

Smith was a two-year captain for Bridgewater College where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in health and exercise science in May of 2006. The two-time ODAC all-conference linebacker was also academic all-conference for two years.

Smith currently resides in Bluffton, Ohio.
