Todd Trotter named HCAC Special Teams Player of the Week

September 21, 2009

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University kick returner Todd Trotter (Cincinnati, Ohio/Aiken University) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Player of the Week on special teams for the week ending Sept. 20, 2009.

It marks the second consecutive season that a Beaver has been named Special Teams Player of the Week in the HCAC after returning a kickoff for a score. Fellow sophomore Antwane Miller picked up the same honor last season after an 80-yard return for six points at Rose-Hulman.

Trotter returned six kickoffs for 182 yards, including an 86-yarder for a touchdown in Bluffton's loss to Adrian on Saturday. He found a seam and worked his way to the home sideline while staying inbounds and fighting off tacklers inside the Adrian 10-yard line before crossing the goal line for an 86-yard kickoff return.

The Beavers return to action on Saturday, Sept. 26, when they travel to Kalamazoo College for a 1 p.m. matchup with the Hornets.
