In action last Thursday on the Bluffton College tennis courts, the Beavers defeated Heidelberg College 5-4. The women's tennis team is now 2-5 overall on the season and was to have hosted Goshen on Tuesday. BC will travel to Anderson University on Saturday for a Heartland Conference tri-match with the host Raven squad and Franklin College.
Against Heidelberg, Amy Boley, Kathy Bumbaugh and Whitney Lehman fell in #1, #2 and #3 singles, respectively, but it was all Bluffton from there as Jessica Culley, Nikki Phillips and Kelly Stieber all pulled out victories in their singles matches. Lehman and Phillips teamed up to win at #2 doubles and Culley and Stieber combined to win at #3 doubles.
BC fell to Sinclair Community College on September 19 despite a victory at #5 singles by Phillips.
