BC tops Defiance in OT

The Bluffton College men's soccer team beat Defiance College last Wednesday 2-1 in overtime. Mark Stutzman provided the winning goal in the 97th minute, while Diego Rodriguez got the scoring started for BC in the 67th minute off an assist from Matt Plank. Derek Stemen had six saves in the victory.

Diego Rodriguez leads the Beavers in goals scored with five and points with 12. Mark Stutzman has four goals for the Beavers and leads the team in assists with three. Derek Steman leads the Beavers in saves with 66.

The Beavers are now 3-11 overall and 1-3 in the Heartland Conference, good for 6th place in the HCAC.

BC has four games left this season. The Beavers play at Concordia College on October 19 at 3:30 p.m. before returning home for their final three games, beginning with Thiel College on October 21, at 12:00 pm. The Beavers play Taylor/Ft. Wayne on October 24, at 3:30 and host Hanover College on October 28 at 11:00 a.m.
