The Bluffton men's soccer team split their two games this week with a win over Cincinnati Bible College and a loss to Manchester College. The win was the Beavers second of the season leaving them with a 2-9 record so far.
The Beavers led off last week with an exciting 4-1 victory over visiting team Cincinnati Bible College. Bluffton was able to pound in four goals before their rival could find the net. Andrew Hornblower scored Bluffton's opening goal on the assist of Diego Rodriguez. T.J. Chapman followed with a goal of his own off a Mark Stutzman assist. Rodriguez stuck again for the Beavers, this time with a goal off another Stutzman assist. After two assists on the day, Mark Stutzman scored Bluffton's final goal unassisted. Fresh off that dominating victory Bluffton traveled to Manchester where they were edged out 2-1. Diego Rodriguez scored Bluffton's lone goal off an Andrew Hornblower assist.
So far this season Diego Rodriguez leads the Beavers with four goals and 10 points. Mark Stutzman has added nine points with 3 goals and a team leading 3 assists. Kevin Wittman and Andrew Hornblower both have 3 points off 1 goal and 1 assist. T.J. Chapman and Larry White both have 1 goal for two points and Luke Archer has 1 assist for 1 point. Goalkeeper Derek Stemen has recorded 60 saves so far this season.
Bluffton was to have hosted Franklin College in an HCAC match up on Tuesday and will travel to Anderson on Friday.
