November 27, 2000

Hanover College made a fine showing against undefeated Wittenberg University Saturday in the second round of the NCAA playoffs but came up a little short as the Panthers lost 32-21.

Wittenberg, ranked fifth in the country, was forced to come from behind in the second half but scored two fourth quarter touchdowns to keep their unbeaten streak alive. They will travel to Alliance, Ohio on Saturday to take on the Mount Union Purple Raiders, who own the longest winning streak in the history of college football.
