The Bluffton College men's and women's cross country teams both had a good showing at the Heartland Conference championship hosted by Manchester College on October 28. Both squads finished fifth out of the seven schools in the HCAC.
On the women's side, Dawn Daniels led the Beavers with a 13th place finish in a time of 20:14. Christina Hysell finished 17th in 20:41, Kristen Stager finished 35th in 21:54, Jen Oyer came in 39th in a time of 22:00 and Heather Showalter rounded out Bluffton top five runner with a time of 22:07 good for 40th place overall. Rachel Noirot, Alyssa Inniger, Mandy Borgelt, Katie Gwirtz, Kristie Wiltsie and Betsy Yates also competed for the Beavers.
Cory Schoenherr's 18th place finish in 28:14 led the Bluffton men's squad. Jeremy Olson finished 39th in 30:06, Steve Borga finished 43rd in 30:41, Jeremy Gaub finished 56th in 32:51 and Devin Lafollietie came in 57th in a time of 32:55. Stephen Rabe finished 62nd in 44:10.
Bluffton will compete next at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional hosted by Hanover on Saturday, October 11.
