Senior DeAnna Anderson (Bluffton/Cory-Rawson) set one Bluffton College women's soccer record Saturday and tied another in the Beavers' 9-0 victory over Franklin College. Anderson connected for five goals in the victory, tying Becky Reineke's school record when she accomplished the same feat in a 1996 victory over Defiance College. Anderson, however, added an assist to give her 11 points in the game, topping the former record of 10 set by Reineke in that same game.

Four other BC women netted one goal each in the victory, which evened Bluffton's record at 4-4 on the season. Goals were scored by sophomore Natalie Anderson (Bluffton/Cory Rawson), freshman April Leu (Archbold), sophomore Katie Kantner (Bluffton) and senior Chrissy Burwinkel (Blanchester/Fayetteville). Senior Chris Harney (Medina) dished out a team-high three assists in the match, while recording one assist each were sophomore Kristen McCullough (Bluffton), Kantner and DeAnna Anderson.

Goalkeeper Anna Steiner (Bluffton) had five saves in the match for her third shutout of the season, just one shy of tying the BC mark of four turned in by Angie Kestler in 1996.

On Monday, September 27 BC made it two in a row with a 1-0 victory at Adrian College, Mich. Sophomore Katie Kantner (Bluffton) scored the winning goal unassisted for the victory.

On September 22 the Beavers suffered a tough loss to Ohio Northern 5-0. BC hosts Shawnee State University on Wednesday and will be in action again on Saturday at home against Anderson University at noon, and will host Manchester College on Wednesday, October 6 at 4:30 p.m.
