Keeler all-time wins leader as BC nips Huntington in OT
In dramatic fashion Thursday afternoon, Randy Keeler became the Bluffton College's all-time wins leader in men's soccer as BC downed Huntington College, Indiana 1-0 in overtime. His 31 collegiate head coaching wins surpassed the previous high of 30 set by Jim Amstutz, who coached the Beavers from 1977-1979 and from 1987-1990.
Lucas Archer (Ottawa/Ottawa-Glandorf) headed in the winning goal off an assist from Mark Stutzman (Wooster) to give BC the win and up their season record to 4-3. Senior Rod Stutzman (Berlin/Hiland) had 16 saves for his second shutout of the season.
Keeler, a 1980 Bluffton College graduate who was a four-year letter winner in soccer for the Beavers, is in his seventh year as head coach. He coached BC from 1991-1994 and again beginning in 1997. His 1993 squad went 9-8-0 finished second in the Association of Mideast College's and tied the school's record for wins in a season.
