Bluffton, Grove City advance to championshpDecember 29, 1999
The championship game of the Second Annual McDonald's of Bluffton Holiday Tournament will feature the host BC squad against Grove City College at 8:00 on Thursday night.
Bluffton beat North Central 89-86 to advance to the finals.
Grove City beat Mount Union 89-81 in the first game of the tournament to send the Wolverines to the title match.
North Central and Mount Union will play in the consolation game at 6:00.
Four BC players hit double figures, led by Jeremy Roberts who scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Ben Coole scored 19 points and also grabbed eight boards, while Chad Cramer hit for 18 points and collected a tournament high 10 rebounds. Chris Sheldon chipped in 13, including a half-court buzzer beater to end the first half and four straight free throws to seal the win for the Beavers.
North Central's Yulander Wells scored a tournament-high 34 points for the Cardinals.
Dan Quinn's 24 points paced Grove City to their eight point win over Mount Union. Damon Finazzo added 15 points, while Shane Meling scored 11 and Chris Kreider chipped in 10.
Mount Union was led by Ron Powers, who took game scoring honors with 27 points, including seven three point field goals.
