Goings earns HCAC Player of the Week honors
Tyson Goings, a junior running back from Defiance (Wayne Trace High School) was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the week for October 16. He carried the football 21 times for 204 yards and 3 touchdowns in Bluffton's 48-17 victory over Anderson. He averaged 9.7 yards per rush and scored on runs of 6, 51, and 34 yards and caught 3 passes for 27 yards including a 12-yard touchdown reception. He also returned a kickoff for 8 yards. Goings scored 4 touchdowns on the day and racked up 239 all-purpose yards.
So far on the season Goings has carried the ball 127 times for 733 yards and 12 touchdowns. He is averaging 122.2 yards per game and 5.8 yards per carry. Goings also has caught 26 passes for 212 yards and one touchdown. He has also returned eight kickoffs for 103 yards on the season and has 1,048 all-purpose yards and 13 touchdowns.
Goings is now 10th on the BC career rushing list with 2,423 yards and is seventh on the career total offense list with 3,019 yards.
