The men's and women's cross country traveled to Hanover, Indiana, for the Div. III NCAA Regional Meet on Saturday, November 11.
Junior Sarah Humphrey (Upper Sandusky/Upper Sandusky) led the Bluffton women as she finished 109th with a time of 25:29.5. Freshman Jennifer Thoele (Laura/Milton Union) and senior Lauren Bailey (Powell/Upper Arlington) were the next Beavers to finish as they finished 205th (29:19.12) and 210th (29:50.7) respectively. Freshman Brooke Habrum (Magnolia/Sandy Valley) ended the race 217th (30:59.3).
Hillary Shilosio (Eldoret, Kenya) continued to lead the men's team as he finished 202nd, crossing the line in 30:27.0. He was followed closely by senior Joel Koerner (Kolona, Iowa/Iowa Mennonite) who had a career-best time of 30:32.5 good for 205th. Senior Dave Espinoza (Toledo/Whitmer) ended his collegiate career, finishing 211th with a time of 31:11.4, while fellow senior Pat Cooley (Ludlow Falls/Milton Union) finished 214th (31:47.9).
This concludes the 2006 season for both the men's and women's cross country teams.
