Beavers defeated by Tiffin University

BLUFFTON, Ohio – The Bluffton University baseball team (3-9) was defeated 15-4 by Tiffin University (6-5) on Tuesday, March 22. The Beavers lost by a score of 15-4.
The Beavers fell behind 4-0 but rallied back in the bottom of the third to score two runs to squeeze Tiffin’s lead to 4-2. Over the next six innings Bluffton was outscored 11-2 for the final score of 15-4. Leading Bluffton offensively was freshman Eli Wagler (Archbold/Archbold) with two hits and one RBI. Freshman Jimmy McMonagle (Ida, Mich./Ida) also provided two hits in the contest.
The losing pitcher for Bluffton was freshman Gordon Hagen (Toledo/Libbey) who gave up six hits and four runs in the game.
The Beavers will be back in action on March 24-25 at Mount St. Joseph for their three-game Heartland Conference series.
