Baseball takes one game from Defiance in HCAC series

The Bluffton College baseball team (6-19, 2-7 HCAC) picked up game two of the three game series with Defiance, 5-2. The Beavers dropped game one on Friday, 13-5 and the second game on Saturday 9-0.

 

Junior Jason Moore (Elida/Elida) picked up the loss on the mound in game one to take his record to 0-2 for the year. Four Beaver batsmen posted one double each in the contest.

 

Senior pitcher Josh Underwood (Bluffton/Cory-Rawson) improved his record to 5-1 for the season with the win in the first game on Saturday. Underwood posted six strikeouts for the outing, allowing five hits.

 

Senior Luke Clouse (Rockford/Parkway) went 2-for-2 at the plate in the series finale. Sophomore pitcher Randy Miller (Willard/Willard) dropped his record to 1-5 for the season.

 

The Beavers host Earlham on Tuesday for a single 9-inning game. Start time is scheduled for 3:30 pm. The game will be webcast live at www.bluffton.edu/sports.
