Plan for Graduation

Instruction Sheet 

THIS PLAN ASSUMES PASSING GRADES AND NO UNFORSEEN ISSUES WITH THE STUDENT’S ACADEMIC PROGRESS. STUDENTS MUST MEET DEPARTMENTAL AND UNIVERSITY GRADE POINT AVERAGES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS AS DESCRIBED IN THE UNIVERSITY CATALOG. 

ANY CHANGES TO YOUR ACADEMIC PLANS MAY CHANGE YOUR POTENTIAL TO GRADUATE. PLEASE NOTIFY YOUR ADVISOR AND THE REGISTRAR’S OFFICE IF YOU MAKE CHANGES TO YOUR SCHEDULE!

Congratulations! You are close to completing your educational goals with Bluffton University. As a step in this process, you will need to check your academic progress with your advisor and indicate your plans on how you will finish your necessary courses for Bluffton. This instruction sheet will assist you in this process. Please follow the steps very carefully to ensure there are no surprises!

1)      Upon receiving the Application for Graduation. Log into the Campus Web to view your course history. If you need help with Campus Web, please contact the Help Desk (ext. 3600)!

2)      Once logged in, go to “MY AIMS” and hit the yellow “REFRESH” button.

3)      Print off the Graduation Report. This report lists courses needed, grades, etc.

4)      Schedule an appointment with your academic advisor.

5)      Take your Graduation Report and the Application for Graduation to your advising session.

6)      Carefully review your courses and courses needed with your advisor. Using the upcoming Class Schedule, plan which   courses you are taking for which term. Any Summer Term courses or transfer work can be listed in the “Additional Courses needed” area. Any substitutions or course waivers must be approved by the department chair and must be sent immediately to the Registrar’s Office. If you and your advisor find a discrepancy within the Graduation Report, please contact the Registrar’s Office immediately.

7)      Using the chart below, make sure you have enough hours to fulfill graduation requirements.

124  hours for students entering Fall 2004 (125 OR 126 IF TOOK LAS050 OR MAT050)

 8)      The student and academic advisor must sign the Plan for Graduation. PLEASE RETURN THE SIGNED PLAN FORM TO THE REGISTRAR’S OFFICE AFTER YOUR ADVISOR MEETING. The Registrar’s office will send the student and the advisor a copy of the planning sheet.
