Mosiman Young Artist Competition

Each year, Bluffton student musicians are invited to enter the Mosiman Young Artist competition. Three finalists are selected to perform in the Bach's Festival Concert where the winner will be announced. The 2012 Bach's Festival Concert is set for 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 18, in Yoder Recital Hall.

  • Kristin Beckman is a senior from Ottawa, Ohio. She is a soprano and she is double majoring in social work and music: performance concentration.
  • Beth McCullough is a senior from Sherwood, Ohio. She plays flute and her major is music education. 
  • Kitanya Murray is a senior from Findlay, Ohio. She plays alto saxophone and her major is music: performance concentration.

Kitanya Murray was named the Mosiman Young Artist for 2012. She also received the People's Choice award.

Sarah Diller was named the Mosiman Young Artist for 2011. Sarah and Kitanya Murray shared the People's Choice award.

Eight Bluffton students auditioned for the 2010 competition. The three finalists chosen by faculty to perform at the Bach Festival Concert were soprano Kristin Beckman, a sophomore from Ottawa, Ohio; flutist Kristen Shelly, a senior from Penfield, N.Y.; and clarinetist Alycia Althaus, a senior from Findlay, Ohio.
