A Bluffton senior interested in the business side of music is in one of the best places to learn this fall. Danielle Spitler, from McComb, Ohio, is spending her semester in the Contemporary Music Center (CMC) program in Nashville, Tenn., exploring a career in popular music. A music major with a concentration in music business, she is in the program’s executive track, designed for students interested in possible careers as artist managers or agents, record company executives, music publishers and concert promoters.
Going to Nashville had an immediate impact on Spitler, the fourth Bluffton student to participate in the CMC, a program of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities. “Yesterday was possibly the day when I figured out what I want to do with my life,” she blogged only a few days into her stay in September. “We all visited EMI CMG Publishing, where big-time Christian artists get published. Once we sat down in there, I realized that is where I want to be someday.”
