What is your favorite thing about being a teacher?
My favorite thing about being a teacher is interacting with the students, both in and outside of class. That communication can enhance all of our lives in a wide variety of ways – academically, emotionally and spiritually. 

What age were you when you first discovered that you wanted to be a teacher? 
I was a high school senior, enjoying singing in the Minnesota All-State Choir, when I thought about sharing singing opportunities - like the ones I was having - with others. 
 
What is your favorite subject to teach?
I love to conduct, and rehearse choirs. 
 
Where is your favorite season on Bluffton's campus?
I love the colors and atmosphere of fall. 
 
What is your favorite sport?
Baseball is my favorite sport. 
 
What do you do in your free time? 
I like to travel, play golf and go to the movies. 

What was the first job you ever had? 
I taught kindergarten-12th grade vocal music in Nebraska. 
 
What kinds of activities did you participate in when you attended college? 
I was in many choral groups, musicals, operas and I played intramural sports. 
 
Where is somewhere that you would like to visit? 
I would like to visit Australia and New Zealand. 
 
What is your 'bucket list', or a couple things you would like to do before you die?
I would like to be able to travel to most continents, spend time at a baseball spring training camp and have the opportunity to conduct Bach’s “B Minor Mass.”
