No tests or grades, no quizzes or papers, just individuals gathering to explore a topic of interest for the pure joy of learning. That is what the Institute for Learning in Retirement program is all about.
ILR is designed for retired/semi-retired people. Many of the courses are designed and led by the members of the institute.
Since its founding in 1991, ILR has served many area retirees. Unfortunately, circumstances dictate that ILR be suspended at this time. University representatives have met with an ILR Advisory Group which has a variety of suggestions and ideas for the future of ILR, including new partnerships and delivery sites. Meanwhile the winter and spring 2017 sessions have been cancelled.
