What excites you the most about education?
The limitless possibilities of working with young people as they seek to change the world in the classroom.
When did you first know that you were destined to be a teacher?
When I was six years old I had a neighbor who was a college professor, and I wanted to be just like him.
What was your favorite class to teach and why?
Introduction to Teaching is my favorite class to teach because of the energy and excitement of all of the first-year students.
What is your favorite place/ season/ event on campus?
My favorite place is my office because of the view, my favorite season on campus is the fall, and my favorite activity to go to is the Defiance vs. Bluffton basketball game.
When you are not teaching, what do you enjoy doing?
My favorite thing to do when I am not teaching is to travel.
What was the first job you ever had?
When I was 12, I was a paper boy.
What extracurricular activities were you involved in when you were a college student?
I was actually the president of a fraternity and that consumed the majority of my extracurricular time.
Where is your favorite place to go on vacation?
My favorite place to go would either have to be Rome or Venice, because of the history, architecture and romance.
What is the best thing about being the Athletics Faculty Representative?
The best thing would have to be watching the athletes play for the love of the game, not for any reward.
What are some things that are on your ‘bucket list’?
The three things on my bucket list are to walk on the sands of the pyramids of Giza, walk on the Great Wall of China and to see the Great Barrier reef off of the coast of Australia.
