Course numbers Courses are numbered to correspond with the recommended sequence in which they should be taken. Normally numbers also correspond with the college level at which they are taken. Courses numbered 300 or higher are upper-level courses primarily for juniors and seniors, though open to other qualified students; courses numbered lower than 300 are primarily for first-year students and sophomores. Courses numbered above 500 are graduate level courses. Students are advised to note prerequisites listed in course descriptions and to confer with their academic advisers or the registrar concerning sequence and level of specific courses.
Course Credit Bluffton University operates on a semester calendar. All course credit is given in semester hours. The number of semester hours for each course is indicated in parentheses.
