Bluffton men's tennis posts one win and two losses

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University men's tennis team (1-2) had their first matches
last week. The Beavers started the season out on a strong note as they easily defeated
Adrian College 8-1. They posted two loses against Transylvania University 9-0 and
Hanover College 8-1.
Leading Bluffton in their decisive victory over Adrian College was freshman Jordan Zickafoose (Lima/Lima Senior) who posted a win in the No. 1 singles position with a score of 6-1, 6-2. Zickafoose and junior Pete Martin (Berne, Ind./South Adams) took the No. 1 doubles victory by a score of 8-4. The Beavers earned wins in the No. 3 through No. 6 singles position.
Bluffton dropped two Heartland Conference matches over the weekend against Transylvania and Hanover. The Beavers lone victory against Hanover came from freshman Nick Barth (Upper Sandusky/Upper Sandusky) in the No. 6 singles position by a score of 1-6, 7-6, 10-8, 10-5.
The Beavers look to repeat their early success as they will face Heidelberg on March 31. Bluffton will have a three way conference match up with Defiance and Anderson on April 2.
