Austin Sweeney named HCAC Special Teams Player of the Week

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University kicker Austin Sweeney (Adrian, Mich./Whitmer) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Player of the Week on special teams for the week ending October 23, 2011.
The sophomore opened the game's scoring with a 22-yard field goal in the first quarter and connected on all four of his extra point attempts as the Beavers handed Rose-Hulman a 31-13 loss at Salzman Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 22. Sweeney also drilled six kickoffs for 305 yards in the Beavers' fourth straight win.
It marked the first time Bluffton has won four consecutive games since 2000 and it was also the first-ever victory over the Fightin' Engineers after seven straight setbacks. With the win Bluffton took over sole possession of third place in the HCAC heading into week nine of the season.
Bluffton (4-4, 4-2 HCAC) will travel to Hanover (4-3, 4-1 HCAC) for a 1:30 PM kickoff on Saturday.
