Phil Talavinia
Phill Talavinia enters his 18th season at BC, serving as the head athletic trainer for all 16 varsity sports. Also Bluffton's associate director of athletics, Talavinia makes all travel arrangements for the football program and holds unofficial titles of equipment manager and assistant coach.
Talavinia received his bachelor's degree from Anderson University in 1985 in athletic training and business management. A native of Boston, Pa., he served as an assistant trainer at Anderson for four years and assisted the Chicago Bears training staff for 10 years during their summer camp.
Talavinia supervises a large staff of student trainers and managers and is an adjunct instructor in the BC health, physical education and recreation department. He works closely with the team's consulting doctors and assists the coaching staff with several duties, as well.
Talavinia lives in Bluffton with his wife Michelle.
