The Bluffton College women's basketball squad is now 1-2 on the season after suffering a close 69-63 loss on November 21 at Cedarville University.

Bluffton will return to action Saturday, December 2 for a 5:30 contest against Oberlin College in Founders Hall.

BC held leads in both the first half and second half Tuesday night at Cedarville College, but the Beavers fell to the host Yellow Jacket squad 69-63 to see their record slip to 1-2 on the season.

Back to back baskets by Melissa James gave Bluffton a 14-13 lead with 8:53 left in the first half but Cedarville went on a 15-6 run at that point and took a 28-26 halftime lead. Four straight points by Liz Bock early in the second half sent the lead back to Bluffton and points from Elizabeth Snavely, Jen Bear, Michelle Ray and Amy Aschemeier kept Bluffton on top by five points with 13:36 left in the game.

An 11-2 Cedarville run saw BC trail by four points with 11:55 to play, but the Beavers led again 45-44 with 6:43 remaining. However, Cedarville pulled away down the stretch to claim their second win of the season despite connecting on just two of 21 3-point attempts in the game. Bluffton shot 49% from the floor compared to just 31% for the hosts, but BC committed 30 turnovers.

Snavely netted a team-high 16 points while James added 10. Bock, Kristy Crall and Bear all chipped in eight points each.
