Three BC baseball players named to All-Tourney Team

Three members of the Bluffton College baseball team were named to the EMU-Sarasota Spring Classic All-Tournament Team following Bluffton's spring break trip to the fourth annual tournament last week in Sarasota, Florida.

Senior Bob Sierer (Paulding) along with sophomores Todd Pickthorn (Miamisburg) and Dustin Kreis (Richwood/North Union) were selected for the All-Tournament Team.

Sierer pitched the tournament's first ever no-hitter, that coming in a 13-0 win over Kenyon College (Ohio) on Friday. He struck out four batters and allowed just four base runners.

Pickthorn, Bluffton's second baseman, hit .448 during the week, going 13-29 with one double, two triples and eight RBI. He reached base 20 times in eight games and went 3-6 with four RBI in the tournament finale, an 11-7 BC win over Eastern Mennonite.

Kreis hit a team-best .450 during the week, going 11-24 with one double and eight RBI. He reached base 19 times in eight games and went 3-4 with a double and RBI against EMU, reaching base five times.

Bluffton went 3-5 in Sarasota and is scheduled to host Manchester College in a Heartland Conference double header on Wednesday.
